Wisconsin Sorting Card Test

This Excel file is to compute and check the results of a patient by administering the WSCT. It frees psychologist’ resources to be able to pay more attention to the client and not to be concern by solving and categorizing the patient’s answers.

 

Pattern cards

The excel file starts with four cards, which are put in front of a client:

 

1 red triangle

2 green stars

3 yellow crosses

4 blue dots

Serial number of a card (written on the other side of a card)

So we can read: The first card is one green triangle, the client should answer according to color (1) and put onto second column, the second card is four red crosses, the client should answer according to color and put it on the first column, etc.

The client is to have 10 correct answers (= set) according actual criterion, then the criterion is changed in this order: CFNCFN. We see actual criterion expressed by number 1-3 in the column S.

We type the client’s answers into the first column. Number is number of column in the pattern, so the number three means the column with three yellow crosses.

Correct

Indicates whether the client’s answer was good or not.

UE

Indicates a last client’s unambiguous error.

Indicates client’s perseveration after unambiguous error.

FMS

Indicates failure to maintain set. (An error after at least five correct answers.)

Six columns indicate possible internal criterion the client exploited by his decision.

Other means other criterion than color, form and number.

Position means that the client puts the cards still in the same column, say third.

Pattern is just another way how to describe the possible internal criteria.
